This model was presented last year at e-Lit 2006 and caused a great stir, not least because it challenged the idea that there is a unifying set of e-literacy skills such as ECDL, but she demonstrated that the technology for learning had evolved to the extent that tools were available in formal, non-formal and informal contexts to support learners. In the context of Hilda's work in community and HE settings these tools could be configured for use to build anything from simple portfolios to complex academic presentations with the underlying Windows technology allowing transfer of materials in many multimedia formats. This is not a single integrated solution envisaged in "Harnessing Technology", but a unified model using disparate tools to deliver an underlying developmental model, which we might find useful in mapping the tools needed to meet different visions for e-portfolios. I am happy to explore this model in greater detail with individuals or through the wiki.

Interesting to see how this fits in with Shane's comments; is this a Web 2.0 PLE??? How does the ELF support it?
Thanks Nigel
